Cultivars
Aphids are small, sap-sucking insects that can cause distorted growth and leaf discoloration. They may exude honeydew, which can attract ants.
Spider mites are tiny insects that create webs on leaves. Symptoms include stippling or discoloration of leaves, eventual yellowing and/or leaf drop.
Mealybugs are sap-sucking pests that can cause deformed foliage. The presence of cottony masses on leaves and stems indicate infestations.
Steps:
- Take a 4-6 inch cutting from a healthy stem of the plant, ensuring the cutting has at least 2 nodes.
- Remove the lower leaves from the cutting, leaving a few leaves at the top.
- Dip the cut end of the stem in rooting hormone to stimulate root development.
- Plant the cutting in a well-draining potting mix.
- Keep the soil consistently moist but not waterlogged until roots develop.
