Cultivars
Baby Panda
While aesthetically pleasing together, both compete for similar resources and root space, potentially hindering the growth of each other, especially in confined spaces.
These small insects feed on the sap of the bamboo, causing yellowing, stunted growth, and distorted leaves. They also excrete honeydew, which can lead to sooty mold.
Mites cause stippling and discoloration on the leaves. Severe infestations can weaken the plant.
Steps:
- Select healthy culms (canes) with at least two nodes.
- Cut the culms into sections, ensuring each section has at least one node.
- Plant the cuttings in a well-draining potting mix.
- Keep the soil consistently moist and in a warm, humid environment.
- Roots should develop in a few weeks.
